I've had my AEM CAI since feburary and havn't had a single problme i don't even have the valve for it, which i know isn't very smart but from what i've read unless you have a superchrager or some sort of forced induction unless the filter is completely sumerged in water it shoudln't hurt it.

AEM's cold air intake system is supposed to come with something called a "bypass valve". That is supposed to prevent any water to be sucked up into your intake to your throttle body.

Really, chances of you sucking up any water is very unlikely unless your going through a high puddle of water or just stroke of luck when it was raining.

Ah...I assumed it came with it. I'm guessing it's something not really necessary and just another way for AEM to get your cash.

Unlikely but it happesns. We had a redline ION come in that was totally hydro locked. Should have seen the water when we took the plugs out and cranked it

As long as your not driving through flooded roads, I wouldn't be to worried about it. Just regular rain isn't going to hurt it.

No problems here and I dont expect to have any. With the LS Sport kit, the bumper really protects the filter well, also, the fenderwells are completely covered as well - so I can pretty much honestly say it's not gonna get wet in there.
