alright i have a 97 z24 and have decided to do a conversion from my automatic to a 5 speed wut is needed for this? i dont suppose i could go to a wrecking yard get a 2.4 manual engin/tranny and just swap it out and call it a day huh? well if u can help itd be appreciated

Well first this should be in the transmission forum but I'll help you out anyways...

Read this thread...it says for ECOTEC but these are the general parts you would need for the swap: Read This.

If you did do a swap, you would need an Isuzu Transmission from a Pre-2000 3rd Gen.

That would probably save you some headache but if you did do that, try and aim for a 2000+ 2.4 motor so you get the Getrag Transmission (Isuzu Transmissions were Pre 2000, Getrags are 2000+ transmissions).

umm from what i know youll need

new tranny mounts

clutch pedal installed

new shifter

not sure if you need different wiring and computer

flywheel and clutch

prob few more things

but you can as u said go to a yard and grab it all

and then have fun installing it =)
