Hello all, well I have a 1998 2200 and it's slow, and I'm poor. I'm considering just buying a K&N drop-in to give it a little boost. Now, I have heard mixed things: my friend with an old Dodge Shadow put one in and said it drastically helped, someone else I know with a Camry put one in and said it didn't make any difference.
What are your opinions? It's about $50, and I don't want to waste my money on that if it won't make a differenece. I know it won't add 10hp or even 2hp, but I've heard that the throttle response is a bit better and the engine revs more freely. Who has experience with one on a 2200 engine?
i have a k & n cone filter on my stock intake arm and it is definetly worth the money especially for a guy like me or u that cant spend a lot of money
Hey thanks, your profile says you have a "custom ram air intake", I wondered if you had a Cardomain page/some pictures to show that?
worht it i think.

I had the same ET when I ran 15.4, so I think his "timeslip" may be a little off. I'd get a cone filter and attach it to the stock tubing. Its a small piece to the puzzle, but you have to start somewhere.
DISREGARD THE POST ABOVE!!!
I had SLIGHTLY higher MPH when I ran 15.4, so I think his "timeslip" may be a little off. I'd get a cone filter and attach it to the stock tubing. Its a small piece to the puzzle, but you have to start somewhere.
Before I had money to do alot of tuning, The first tning I did was purchase a short ram intake system off ebay and change to Royal Purple tranny fluid and Royal Purple Motor Oil and that right there gave me a difference.
A warm air intake is not much more than just the drop in air filter. Take alook around for deals.
well think about this, yes you are getting colder air from a "cold air" but you are having to move the air twise as far... so it kinda balances out
now granted my filter does sit right under a vent in my hood... its kinda the best right there... cold air, with the short ram length... haha
if you dont have all kinds of money just buy the drop in filter or do what i said before and no bud my timeslip is not off
I started with a cone filter on the end of my stock intake tube, it helped a little but I went to a local parts dealer, ordered up some 2.5 and 3" tubing and fabbed up a custom intake that runs through where the battery tray used to be (it's in the trunk now) and right next to the radiator behind the grill. The whole thing cost me like 70 bucks.
