Hey,
Have an ECOTEC with many bolt ons! However, all of a sudden this past weekend, my car started acting really weird. I could barely drive it as I would press the accelerator, the car would flutter continuously (like diesel was added)!!!
I managed to get to a mechanic, changed my spark plugs and there was a huge difference, except all this time, no CHECK engine light!! My car is drivable now, but I cannot floor it as the RPM's STICK and the car flutters. I also smell mad gas!!
Mechanic said it could be: Bad fuel pump, fuel filter, coil pack, bad injectors. He mentioned the car felt like it was misfiring!
4 days later, my check engine light pops up (today).. Had it checked, and its a code P0133.. O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1). COuld this be preventing my car from accelerating hard? Or do I need a new fuel filter. Friend of mine had the same problem. Figured out he was getting his usual 45psi at low speed, but only 25 psi at high RPM.. It was his fuel fitler!!
Talk to me please
Thanks

Replace the oxygen sensor in your header. Make sure you reset the PCM while you are doing it.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
^^ AGREED get rid of the BOSCH sensor your probably have and get a delco...problem solved
FACT : Statistics show that you are more likely to to be hit by lightning than to die street racing.
Okay,
All that still did not help, I even changed my fuel filter which was really dirty for only 28,000 miles!! The fuel filter helped a little, but I still cannot hit the accelerator too hard.
The mechanic says I should replace my new 62mm throttle body with my stock one and see if that fixes the problem! Apparently I have too much air and not enough fuel. Have any other ecotec member out there experienced this problem? I think I need to get a GM TECH II hooked up and hopefully that will pinpoint the real problem! I thought our OBDII would compensate the fuel with the extra air.. I guess not..
Any suggestions
Thanks

Hey put your origional one back on and see if it solves your problem if not take a look at your fuel pressure but with that low milage it shouldnt be faulty
One more thing what quality fuel are you using? It might be the gas you use or the station itself try a higher octane if your going low and try it at another station the reason that your filter might have been filthy could be that the stations tanks are rotting and might be giving you rust and water.
Tip for everyone: Dont fill up at a station that iss being filled, water on the bottom mixes and can get into your car.
Thanks for the post!
I plan on putting my stock one back on to see what happens, but who wants to do that?? It could have been bad gas, but I've filled up a few times since then. I do use 93 octane and just poured some fuel injector cleaner in my tank to see if perhaps I have dirty injectors! A mechanic checked my fuel pressure, it was running normal at idle.
Any other suggestions please
Thanks

Hey guys,
Can anyone really help me here? I need some answers please. So putting this back at the top of the list--sorry

idle fuel pressure means nothing. try hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and drive it like you usually do. make sure the gauge has a long enough of a line to reach your interior. that is the way to check fuel pressure.

one more thing, check your fuel pressure regulator, that may have gone bad.

you are running 93 octane in that car? why what a waste of money and gas. you said you did replace the O2 senor that was throwing the CEL? if so is the light still on? also i would just disconect the negative terminal on the baterie for about 15 minutes, then put it back on to reset the computer, and see how it drives.
