I'm trying to quiet down my exhaust which, at the current time, consists of a Pacesetter header, Magnaflow cat, Magnaflow 14" resonator and OBX fart can.
I'm looking at the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler---I used to have one on the 05 Cavalier my wife used to have (stock exhaust) and it was quiet.
I'm thinking of going with the 20" case, 25.5" overall length Super Turbo and capping it off with a Magnaflow tip--either the 3" or 4" outlet tip. The 3" outlet tip is 7" long while the 4" outlet tip is 5" long.
My question is, will a muffler that long fit with room for the tip? The tip has to line up with the cut out in the LS Sport rear.
Also, what would be the better fit for the LS rear...the 3" outlet or 4" outlet?
umm if i remember correctly my current exhaust was off at LS Sport...and it has a 4" inch tip. It fit in there like a charm. Here is a link to the car it was on.

As for the length of the muffler. I believe you will have plently as my muffler is overall 24" long and if you look in the above link you will notice that there is an extension piece in between the tip and the muffler outlet so that the tip is positioned at the edge of the bumper. Hope this helps.
Thanks man. I hated to even post this up here---I'm no noob at all. I have just fallen out of the "loop" so to speak. I don't have a ton of time to spend on here checking other posts and watching to make sure I don't post something someone else has posted already. I guess that is what happens when you grow up and have a family.
At any rate, thanks for the info---I'll be ordering the muffler soon. I have to quiet this thing down a little. I can't even use my garage on days I have to go to work early because I wake up my son with the sound of the car starting.
no problems man. You do what you gotta do. I will admit I hardly know anything so when I can help out I try my best. But yes I have also realized quiet is good. My first car was a '92 Honda Accord. I put a fart cannon on it with 2.25" piping and a small resonator...it was way loud and eventually i got sick of it. Hence why I have the setup I have now for my sunfire. Quiet and mellow is golden. Take it easy.
