in my opinion, this is the best exhaust setup for the Eco. (notice... I did say "my opinion".
)
Pacesetter ceramic coated LSJ header
Custom Tubes mandrel-bent 2.5" exhaust
Magnaflow cat (91036)
Magnaflow resonator
Magnaflow muffler
Magnaflow tip
when I originally had my exhaust done after my Eco swap, I tried to do something a little different from the norm and used a Hooker muffler with a Hooker tip. it sounded okay, kinda loud... but not bad. almost 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my exhaust note had changed, and the car was vibrating a bit more than usual. when I got home, I looked behind my car to see the muffler tip tucked underneath the lip on the bumper. I looked under the car, and saw that the inlet tube had broken off the body of the muffler. I was pissed.
I gave Chad at
Gravana a call. he helped me pick out a muffler and a tip for my car. I got the longest muffler we though would fit (the 18", 2.5" in/out), and the tip that would fit it. I finally got it welded up today and I was amazed. the car is very quiet. not like stock, but still damn quiet. out back, there's a very nice deep exhaust note. this is an awesome setup.
here are some pics. yes, I know the car is filthy. the image quality probably isn't that great since I took the pics with my Blackberry Curve.
I don't remember what part numbers I used, but I'm sure I could find them again if anyone wants them.
HUGE thanks to Chad at Gravana for helping me out in such short notice, and getting everything shipped to me as quickly as possible.

I'd really like to hear this. I know it's for an Eco and I have a 2.4, but it could give me some idea of what it might sound like on my car...
I currently have a Megan Racing cat back, and it's WAY too loud. I was just going to put a resonator on it but I'm afraid it wont be enough.
From what you've said about this, it seems like it might be exactly the sound I would like...
yes i feel the same about the Vibrant exhaust
sound clip please!
very much so. especially driving up to Flagstaff from Phoenix, going up those mountains in 4th gear. when I got out of the car, it was like I just got out of a very loud concert.
I'm gonna shoot you an email later on today Shawn.

so while we all wait for this sound clip...does it happen to sound anything like my Magnaflow system?
http://home.cogeco.ca/~djdnz/Exhaust.mov
Keep in mind that this system is 2.25" compression bent, stock cat and stock header. Oh and this is off the guy I bought it off of, so it sounds tad different on my 2200 but I will say that the change is minimal. So for you guys who have 2.4's, I doubt the sound will change too much between an eco and 2.4 but what do I know?
Nice.

I like the way that sounds Scott...
I'd like something like that, or even a bit more quiet...
yep...that sounds decent...there is no doubt that a Magnaflow setup can make a good sound on a J. Not to mention on trucks too! (GM's and Ford in particular)
hey i'm planing on doing my exhaust on saturday and i can't get ahold of 2.25" pipe..... I'm not running boost or anything...and i wondering should i use stock pipe for now till they get the 2.25" pipe in may or should i go pick up 2.5" and use that? ( i have pacesetter headers, a magna flow high flow cat, resonator, and a reactive dual 3" tip muffler.) Will this be overkill with 2.5" or will it work nicely? anyhelp would be much appricated!. ps sorry for jacking yer post, and nice setup by the way!

thanks for the compliment. 2.5" should work fine on the 2.4. it's always good to have if you upgrade down the road.

That's it, I'm officially jealous. My exhaust is too quiet compared to yours.

thanks man, would there be much a difference between the two(2.25" and 2.5") power wize??? the good, and the bad??
Thanks, Chris

well, the increase in exhaust size should shift your power band a little higher in the RPM range, but the 2.4 LD9 is a low-end torque motor, so you should still be okay. you're not going to lose all your power completely.
