hey i was just wondering whats the best synthestic to use in the 2.4 anybody have a good suggestion i drive my car pretty hard sometimes and i want to make sure the bearings are getting good lubrication
the search button must be broken again......
Royal Purple is the best.
i wouldnt have agreed to much but when i was getting my exhaust done, he said he switched to rp in his tb SS and he felt a difference, a while later his brother bought one too and out of nowhere his brother switched too and was like did you feel a difference when you switched? so they both felt a difference. i might try it once but other than that, i use mobil 1 synthetic.
I also use Mobil 1 syn, however now that I can get deals on RP I may be making the switch as well.
MOBIL1 syn is still the best..and if your worried about your 2.4 bearings id personally suggest using something a hair thicker than 5w
I use Mobil 1 but i get it for free if i had to pay i might go Royal Purple.
maybe 10w or 15w .....what else do they make....lol

I have had 2 cars both with Mobil1 and both hit 400 hundred thousand KM,One was a 85 Civic,And the other was a 92 Cavy Z24 with a 3.1 it lasted to 416 Thousand Km,Both cars were drove very hard,My 05 Sunfire got the Royal Purple treatment,The motor had somthing let go inside at 170 thousand KM,With my new motor in place now,I am back to Mobil1 5/30,And i will never go back to another oil,They are the original and the best,More factor cars come filled with mobil1 So if they will use it it must be good. Also With RP Lets add Purple Dye through out the motor..Always a good thing..Mobil1 Comes out a nice Gold colour Just like a good motor oill should..But this is just my 2 Cents.
i run rp 10w30 i get it at autozone.
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
There was this study done that my dad had. I forget where it was from. However they tested many synthetic oils...long story short, RP was the best. I forget what they tested, but Mobil 1 actually did very poorly. My dad uses all RP fluids in his Vette and will be doing the same for his TBSS. I use RP and notice a difference. The engine also runs a few degrees cooler.
On Horsepower TV they dyno test RP and a (nameless) oil. RP freed up i wanna say 5 to 10 hp. Summitracing sells RP, but the handling charge is gettin outragous. Jegs should carry it too.
AMSOIL is suppose to be another very good oil.
I just use the wal-mart labeled full synthetic and change it and the filter every 2,000 miles.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
I've always used Mobil 1
You can get Royal Purple at Wal-Mart now
Hes just refering to walmart brand synthetic oil. Also, on hp tv they changed the spark plugs, and added an msd ignition to the car while doing the oil change.
Mobil 1 Sync.

No, this was an actual test for just the oil. The only thing they changed was the oil and put on a new filter(same brand). The test was done on one of their SBC crate engines on the engine dyno. There was no car involved.

I was not asking, I was making a statement...You can actually buy Royal Purple at Wal-Mart now. They have had it at our local Wal-Mart since Thanksgiving...right next to the Mobil 1.
Mobile 1 full SYn hands down....been using it on my eco and my eco has over 115000 miles on it with out a issue
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
In my last engine i used the cheap wal-mart crap... spun a rod bearing...
been using mobile one for about 10,000 miles now, never had a problem.
