3500 parts

a buddy of mine has a 3500 out of an 08 g6. it was manufacturer defected, twisted a connecting rod with less than 500 miles on it. well the insurance company didnt want it and the dealer didnt want it so i get it, for free yay-hoo! well my 3400 for my cav needs a cam (just a factory one) and i wouldnt mind having brand new heads that are shiny and new. question is will the cam work? and will the heads work? i know its a vvt engine so im not so sure if there are diferent sensors and if theres diferent lift on the cam.... anyhow i just need to know if it will work. and if sum1 wants the upper and lower intakes ile trade it for 3400 ones. the 35 have less flow factory, but ported can have way more than the 31/34 so lmk thanks for the help RYAN

i dunno how much i would want. id like to trade for a 3400 one to have a spare to port or whatever so id trade straight for it. still looking for an answer on the heads and cam working in the 3400

i don't think the cam works but the whole top end (heads, upper and lower intake)will swap over, check out 60degreev6.com and v6z24.com for the skinny on that... 3500 heads and manifolds are vast improvements over the 3400 stuff.

just a little FYI if the cam broke in the 3400 it might have spun a cam bearing leaving the block useless just so you know i got screwed on a 3400 because of this

Being the VVT engine I don't think there is much interchangeability there.

I would be willing to trade. do you have any pics of the intake and heads? I also have a 36k mile cam out of a 3400. I'd be willing to part with if the 3500 intake will bolt on my 3400.

i have no pix, if u have a picture phone i can take some and send them that way. how much for the cam? im positive the 3500 intake fits cuz ive seen it for sale on 60degreev6. i wont get rid of the heads tho i need them for myself. (while rebuilding it, one fell of the table and broke pretty bad) but like i said i will trade UIM for UIM and CAVETTE pm me about the cam

cam is in the block... hence the vvt stuff doesn't effect the head and upper end parts. Which is all you really need anyway.

I sent him my 3400 intake as trade for his 3500 intake. Got it here and there's no way it'll fit a 3400. What do I do now? LOL
