pretty sure any of them will work..but the 1995 will be the EASIEST ..as it comes with the proper throttle cable bracket .

If I remember correctly from about 5-6 years ago...
90-95 = Yes
89-Earlier = No
I believe there was an issue with one of the earlier sensors...probably the IAC or TPS.
Also, all varients of the quad4 (DOHC and SOHC) had the same 56mm TB. As scott said though, 95' would be the easiest because of the throttle bracket issue with the earlier TB's.

and also as usual scott has one for sale
polished inside, comes with new gasket AND the correct bracket for the cable......if interested

The quad4 TB's aren't much larger than stock, so they don't make much of an impact on drive-ability. Therefor, yes it's fine

I'll be honest Brad. Out of all the Q4 engines I have looked at in junk yards over the years, I have never seen a heated TB. Are you sure it's not just the brake booster line your referring to?

ive seen them...i believe they are EARLY year quads...and the coolant line"housing" at the bottom should b removable..i THINK its bolted on IIRC...it wasnt until the later years they changed it to non coolant TB.
oh no way... its got TWO larger rubber lines coming out of a section completely dedicated for coolant. its really weird. and ive got two of em...
ill run out to the garage and snap a pic later...

does anyone have just the tb cable bracket for the 2.4? i have the 2.3 tb and i just need the other bracket i think

You can't use a 2.4L throttle body bracket (if that's what your asking) unless you drill the throttle wheel. With an unmoddified 2.4L bracket, the throttle plate won't completely close. That's why you use a 95' LD2 bracket.

and brian, i failed at getting pics last night LOL it got down to 14 degrees here and i wasn't about to go running outside just to freeze my nuts off and look at all the unfinished projects in my garage and cringe knowing the fact they wont get done til it warms up!
however, i will get to it!

yesir... i believe it was attached to one of the OLD ass LO intake manifolds that looks like a header. i have one of those as well...

z yaaaa wrote:weird eh?
Indeed. First time I have seen one. If it came off of a header style intake manifold, I can almost guarantee it's from an 87-89' engine.
