Looked for a good way to build a 2.4 but didnt find it. Is it a bad motor to have. Can we get a 2.4 twin cam build guide likeu do the ecotec
just like anything else...
forged pistons, stronger rods, cams etc...
failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
most engines build the same...bout everything you see in the eco build book can be applied to the 2.4...pistons,cams,blowers and turbos, head work and tuning..its all the same...so how bout you tell US just what you YOU wanna do
and well tell you how to get there...........so whats the plan?
Please note though that you cant USE the eco rods and pistons :p. BUT you must used forged 2.4 Pistons and rods. availible through one of the MANY fine JBO vendors.... car customs... turbotechracing, and such.

Well, I'm not taking my motor out and rebuilding, prolly gonna buy good running one and rebuild it from scratch. Money is not an issue, use to run demolition derbies now getting into racing. I want it fast to race but yet still street legal

With that description, I'd suggest a turbo build.
I'd also suggest that you buy and read the book by Corky Bell, 'Maximum Boost'.
It'll dispell alot of myths about turbos, efficiencies, and some good basics on what works with a turbo.
Good reading and number one pick for a future turbo build.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Sounds like a good idea. But with a turbo do i have to upgrade pistons..cam etc?

pistons and rods are a good idea. unless you want to spend money everytime you send a rod thru the block.
cam and head are also good.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
If you want to get some idea of what's possible check out streetfire.net and lookup turbo Cavalier and you'll find boosted 2point4.
He's got a fully built turbo 2.4 making 486 whp and he runs 11.99@ 123 mph!
Just watch that oil pressure on the 2.4l. That is why some people have switched over to the 2.3l setup.

Are there any bolt on turbo kits for the 2.4L? I can't seem to find anywhere. I did see the cam swap that can be done on them. I am currently hunting down the parts to do it to my Sunfire. (Isuzu Parts Guy with access to GM Parts Catalogs)
