goto the newb forum and read.
why read on the newb forum when you kan tell me here, well i need a program besides hp tuners, is there any other?????
because speed limiters are put there for a reason, just because manufactuers know there are people of that stupidity out there to go and try to be fast, in a stock j btw...

Kanno, you need some education. Maybe more than car related kind if you think someone is going to help you kill yourself and others on the street. And don't give me that "I'm going to take it to the track" crap. If you went to the track you'd know that even with FI it might be a while till you NEED to take the speed limiter up.
Study please. My kids will thank you.
try the tuning forum too
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

because you don't know what the hell you're doing, and a tuning program in your hands is a quick way to a blown up engine or someone hurt or killed.
and spoon feeding isn't a favorite thing on jbo. you'll find that out soon enough.

Whats wrong with HP Tuners? Too much for your taste?
FU Tuning
no!!! hp tuners its great but i would like to compare programs because some programms have more features than others!!!!
there are only 2 that i know of that will tune the stock ECU:
1) HP Tuners
2) EFI Live
as for removing the speed limiter, i dont agree with raising it above what the speed ratings of the tires are capable of. now that doesnt mean i would raise it to 300 km/h for mine because of the tires i have, the car cant handle it... i just mean it would be a considering factor.

more features how? programs that interface with the stock ecu are still working with the same ecu.. .doesn't matter what one does over the other, in the end they're still doing the exact same thing.
the only difference would be stand alones like megasquirt, AEM, MSD MEFI, Accel, etc.
efi live can tune the stock ecu?

it appears they may not support the eco's ECU... but efi live V2 supports the 2.2 and 2.4L

X2.....speed limiters are there for a reason. Some reasons may not be as apparent as others.
As some of you may recall in the late '80's the Buick Grand National was the meanest car on the streets, yet they got stuck with a speed limiter of something absurdly slow (I don't remember the exact number). Turns out the reason behind it was that Buick's testing showed that the car would start to generate too much lift beyond a certain speed & become aerodynamically unstable. Hence the speed limiter to keep the car below that speed.
Many of todays full size trucks with large heavy one piece driveshafts have a critical driveshaft speed beyond which point the shafts can & periodically do self destruct. The speed limiter is there to keep the vehicle below that critical speed.
Tire speed ratings are a common limiting factor on many cars.
Just because you may not see an apparent reason for the speed limiter, don't assume that there isn't one.
I have this discussion with the owner of every vehicle I tune, & I have yet to completely remove a speed limiter.
The last thing I want is to turn the news on at night to find out that somebody who's car I tuned, found out the hard way what the reason was behind the speed limiter that I removed for them & got seriously hurt or killed, or seriously hurt or killed someone else.
