ok i looked all over the place for an install guide for the msd dis 2 on an ecotec i know Rodimus Prime has a web page of how to install this but its still down, so can any one help out?
thanks
you using the stock coils (the black thing) are you eliminating them and going with external coils?
i'm looking to doin them ethier way ,i wouldnt mind the external coils
Why oh why can't I find the link now. I remember it as plain as day. It showed how to splice the wires of the stock coil to the MSD.
Bump. Im looking for this information 2. I need more spark at high boost. I've been wanting to do this for months but have not asked because i know its on here just can't find it. Someone think they can help me out? i want to keep my power steering.
id advise against using stock coils, they dont last very long you will get 6 months tops out of them

heh yea you went through coils faster than an oil change lol
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
thanks pj thats what i was looking for, but do u need to use the hpt with this setup?
no, not unless you want to make fake advance.
if you're using it for just the ignition retard feature you can use the MSD program alone to do what you need to do.
you may want to run it to a MAP sensor so it can retard timing based on boost pressure.
i can i use either msd box and hook it up to the map sensor or just the 6212 msd box? also i'm planning to use the 2.2 ohv msd coil set up.
sorry i missed word it, what i meant to say is which kind of msd igntion box can i use, the one in ur write up is the 6212 , and the one Rodimus Prime uses is the 62113, what i was trying to say, i know the 6212 is a programable one and u can have it hooked to the map
sensor right or am i wrong? so can the msd box 62113 Rodimus Prime used in his write up, can that be hooked up to the map senors as while (to retard timing based off of the boost pressure) or is it only certin boxs that can do that, sorry if this isnt making any sens.
most msd boxes can be hooked up to a map sensor for ignition retard so long as they're programmable
but the 6212 is the best for a street application
