Basically, I ripped the stock airbox off, and slapped on a cone filter from autozone, HAHA!
Who else has done this. Is it proven to give any more or less if any hp than a full aftermarket wai?

I have done this on my car, but only for the winter because I don't want my AEM cold air intake sucking up any salt, snow or other crap during the winter. I am at least using an AEM Dry Flow filter though. I don't trust those crappy filters from Auto Zone.

Oh, J to envy, my autozone filter looks exactly like yours.
I did the same as Vitamin E without the reducer.
I had the exact same thing done with my filter when i first got it, then i had a bright idea. I went to my local muffler shop and had the guy there bend up some 3'' exhaust piping in the exact shape that I wanted .all you would have to do is get the exhaust pipe bent on a 45 and use you stock rubber intake hose to make any necessary fittings. This only cost me $10 for the pipe and another $5 for the paint to match my car. In my 0.02 this is a cheep way to make your own intake!!

well i did this to a 2200, so its a little different, but its the same idea. Basically just use your imagination and you should come up with something great . ill see if i can get a pic some time this week.
