NEW CAR ADVICE?
Thursday, December 18, 2008 6:43 AM
I Just bought a '97 Z24 and am just looking for some advice from people who have done their own "trial and error" modifications. My original plan was to SC but upon doing some research found that it might be a pain because of the EGR, starter ect. I'm not completey ruling out the supercharger but just curious if anyone has any advice on what to do besides the basics ie: exhaust, intake...any help is appreatiated, thanks.

Check www.paceperformance.com

GMPP makes a supercharger kit for both the 2.4L and the 2.2L eco, obviously depends on what engine you have. They are designed by GM to be an ease for installation, I know the M45 is a walk in the park and from what I hear the eco takes a little more time but, its a great learning experience.

Good luck

^ The GMPP S/C kit was designed for 00+ 2.4's, not 99-. There are simple modifications to get it to work on a 99-, but its not straightforward just by looking at it, you have to know what it is that you need to replace, like the starter, what to do about the EGR, what to do about injectors, etc.

You know, I think I'll just deal with the little hassles like the starter and egr. Theres just no way in hell that I will get the amout of power I want with the budget I'm working with to go N/A and turbo is definatly out of the question (for now anyway) Thanks for the advice.
