The paint on the painted header will bake off and then the header will rust out and you'll be buying another one. The coated one wont rust.

There something more here that's being overlooked: The one from Summit is a Tri-Y (4-2-1) while the one on eBay is a simple 4-1 style unit. The advantage of the Tri-Y is that it helps the engine produce torque over a broad area of the curve, while the traditional-style is more peaky.

I'd also like to mention (Partially as back-up to my words) that turbos10.com (My source for many hot parts, since I have an S-truck with an LN2. Not a J-car) has just produced a Tri-Y header, that when combined with their air-inlet tract & a Patriot Stage-2 head made a considerable increase in power at 3000rpm, and more power at 4000rpm than a all-stock engine would pulll at redline. Although dyno testing has yet to be completed, figuring estimates 150-160whp to be the result.

Goto www.dts2.net/turbos-10/ (<-Not a functioning link!) to read more about it.

^Really? Well, that's ironic... I just learned the TurboS10.com has just completed design & testing on a Tri-Y for the LN2'd S-trucks, and will soon be available. One may cost me a bit ($500 or more) but the gain had with a well-ported head & a good air-inlet tract will be worth it.

Id go with the ebay one. Between the two the ebay one will probably have better quality welds and wont flake all its paint off and rust out and look like crap. but sense its stainless steel it will discolor and turn brownish but that's just heated stainless steel not rust.

ebay 4tw IMO.
