LSJ header question - Performance Forum

LSJ header question

Ok well i have been looking around at headers and a lsj/2.2 ecotec 07+ header looks the same as the oem on my sunfire and the downpipe as well is there a really big difference in a sunfire and a cobalts header and downpipe. O and dont post if your going to be a A$$ because i really dont care thanks for the help

the LSJ header will work on your car. you'll have to fab a downpipe for it.

now is that because the downpipe goes the wrong way on the cobalts?

i've been wonderin the same thing. they go the same way but the distance to the undercarriage may be different.

i think if your doing a full exhaust at the smae time you wouldn't have to worry about it

ya it would be really nice if i can because i havent done really any thing to my 03 sunfire and i dont want it to be a @!#$ job.

this header will work on lsj and ecotec 2.2s

i think it has something to do with the distance to the catalytic converter and the way the exhaust is assembled slightly different on the cobalt vs. the j's. I know when we did chris's (s1lver_n1p) it was just a matter of putting a 45* angle in there to connect everything together.

not worth the time , and will gain little if any power

not to mention the stock down pipe opening is maybe a hair over 2" , and the pipe is under 2"

2 1/4 will bolt up to the stock downpipe i know that there will be a gain because i don it on another car about 5-10hp with cat back all so.
