Ok guys, I am having a serious problem here... I have been on the phone with about 50 junk yards in the past 2 weeks trying to locate myself a 5 speed ecotec engine harness, every damned yard only has auto harnesses. My question is how hard could it be to convert it to a 5 speed harness and what would I need to do?
Thanks

as far as I know, you can use the auto harness for a 5 speed. the only connectors you'd use would be the VSS and reverse light. nothing else.

^^^ As said above, as well as you connect the wires for the park/neutral safety switch.
The entire plug can just be shoved out of view if you want.

can't you just bypass that switch?

good job man. i called a bunch of places for ya but all the fuse boxes were cut. im using an auto harness in my 2.4 car right now with no issues.
I've been using an auto harness since the swap. I gave up on 6 months of calling around and searching. I'll just work with the auto one and HPT when I get it to turn off the dash lights.
phil ill give ya 40 shipped for the auto harness
So, auto wiring with a manual ecm and everything will be fine? Just cut out the wires you don't need?

I'm not sure about that but I'm running an auto ecu AND wiring harness without abs on a 5spd with abs.

I was always 5 speed, I could not locate a 5 seed harness,so I was going to convert an auto harness to work
