Your only choices that í'm aware of is a regrind. (comp cams or do a search for others) As far as i know there's no off the shelve performance cam. In all honesty to really benefit from a regrind you would need a tune and supporting mods. Which in my opinion if i was you i would just put a set of 1.6 roller rockers, intake and header with full exhaust.

If your still wanting more power get the head ported and polished. Then go with a regrind. But with all the money you done dumped in all those parts and tuning you will still more than likely not even be pushing power wise what a eco does. In which in the long run it would probably be cheaper to swap for the eco depending on sources for parts. Then you will have nearly triple the aftermarket parts in which would put higher numbers than you could get from the 2200.

Unless you were to go turbo at around 8lbs which would net you good results on the 2200.

And speaking of swapping and power wise. I have 2 sunfires both were auto with 2200. In the quest for more power i decided a swap was better in the long run. So i swapped to a 2.4 5speed in the 99 for a grand total of $800 and the 2000 will soon have a eco or v6.

With info so strung out and so many posts where people told others to look. I'll tell you the basics Motor, tranny, ecu, bcm, engine harness, and misc hoses. Best bet is to find a wrecked one with a eco or something. You may need other parts if going from auto to 5 speed.

is the auto tranny on the ecotec the only one that can be used?(what about my 4t40e?)
