So I am getting ready to do a few more mods this spring. This is what I got on my car right now:
GM Supercharger (M45)
2.7" s/c pulley (Smooth Flow Pulleys)
Custom alternator and crank pulley (thanks MD LD9)
Pacesetter armor coated 4-1 header
Toucan Cold Air Intake: customized to fit the supercharger
Cosmo Racing Short Shifter
RK Sport upper engine mount insert
RK sport lower mount
Team Green LSD (not yet installed)
Snow Performance Stage 1 alky kit (not installed)
OBX TBS (not installed)
Bully Stage 3 clutch (not installed)
SPEC Lightweight Flywheel (not installed)
Full 2.5" exhaust with 2.5" downpipe/cat (not installed)
I am also in the process of looking into LSJ injectors, a 58mm tb and HPT. I had the engine rebuilt 50,000kms ago (30, 000 miles). I'm not sure what I will be putting down but if I got ahead with the injectos, tb and tune I would estimate somewhere around 250hp (rough estimate). I'm am wondering how things are gonna hold up this summer. I am looking into getting the engine built next winter but not sure how things are gonna hold up over the summer. What have people found with the LD9 with around 250hp holding up. I have read different things and am trying to get a feel for what people with similar mods/hp are making out with reliabity. I think it is a known fact that I am going to have to get a rebuild soon but am wondering how the car will hold up this summer. I am thinking about going 9.1:1 forged pistons, with a set of cams and some other internal upgrades. I'm also possibly looking into nitrous if/when I get my engine built (only want a 35 shot). Does anyone have some insight on how my car may hold up after the mods and if anyone has some suggestions of what would be a good choice for an engine rebuild. Would like to drop down to a 2.6" pulley and get some s/c porting done when I build the engine next winter as well, not sure what it will be putting out for boost but somewhere in the 5-7psi range (porting will lower psi but increase flow). Anyways, if someone could help me out that would be awsome.
Are you thinking 250 whp? If so no. I hate to say it but you will be hard pressed to get 200whp out of that charger. As for what the LD9 can take in stock form. Well I think it is still un decided. As we found out today my friends twin charger LD9 put down 266whp. That is roughly 290 at the crank. I think before HPT 250 was the limit because of tuing. I thik with good tuning more is possible. Just how much more we do not know.

Yeah...I am curious to get my tune done with the larger injectors and TB. I'd love to get 250bhp with everything all said and done. I am planning on eventually rebuilding the engine and doing some s/c'er work at the same time. Thinking with the alky injection and tune I should be able to drop down to a 2.6" pulley. Have to wait and see...as long as I can get through the summer I'll be happy...probably in the fall everything is gonna come out to be on the safe side...I'd love to see 300+hp with it after I get the engine built, but may have to go with a few other alternatives
Unless you plan on going turbo or M62 sc when you rebuild go 10:1 or 10.5:1 scr since the M45 isn't capable of high boost levels.

Oh?
Never Dynoed it, by stock LD9 with a Over drive crank pulley and the stock charger pulley did a nice 13.9 @ 103 in '07 when i sprayed it in 1st and 2nd it droped two tenths....
Do not "think" alky\water injection.
It is a MUST.
after i put my 2.6 on with the over drive crank pulley, it would hit 8-9 Lbs at any RPM above 1600, and around 5000-5300 climb to 11-12
My average intake air temp when spraying water was 75-80* on a warm summer day (80-95*)
If building a engine for that blower, i would stick with Flat Top Pistons, LG0|W41 cams, and a nicely ported exhaust side of the head.

Heat and detonation are the enemy........ keep both at bay and the stock 2.4 bottom end will be fine for 300+ HP.
On rebuild, if keeping the M45, go 10:1 on the pistons, Cometic "N/A" gasket (thinner), and a good alky kit (seen you said you had one, just not installed) Have the blower ported and polished as well (stripping the coating from the outside helps keep the temps down as well.)

My ultimate goal is to break into the 13's. Hopefully this will happen someday. Hoping to run a low 14 this summer after I'm all said and done. May start looking around for some internals for a rebuild. What have people been paying for a decent set of internal upgrades? See a few different places have packages with different bore/compression pistons. Have to possibly look into buying a complete package.
I would dump that WAI first. and pipe it down to were your sub frame brace is....

An actual cold air intake make that much of a difference over the WAI? I may look into that....I think the exhaust is gonna make a decent difference, cause I have a small section of pipe that remains at the factory 1" 7/8.
Anyone running the m45 on 10.5:1....have searched a bit but only really see people thinking about doing it or are going to do it soon. You'd have to get a decent tune to run that. I see that TTR has a set of JE pistons at 10.0:1. Thats still an improvement over stock which I do believe is 9.7:1 on a 2000+ LD9.

Cold air makes better power. I perfer the throttle response of a WAI. That is what I run a cold air pipe up to my filter to bring the cold air in, but keep my throttle response.

Sounds logical...may try to do that
He's got a blower....
Just take the OE "S" tube and run it down... you'll see what i mean.

there is someone in the process of bulding the 10.5:1 compression right now . not sure how it is going for him but.i have a ten to one build done as well as many more upgrades. i also only got 400 miles on her before snow came so havent even got on her yet.

I think I am aiming more towards the 10:1 at this point in time but I still will hopefully get the summer out of the engine before I have to rebuild. I can't wait to get it out in the spring to see what it will run on the 1/4 mile. I'd like to get some slicks but hopefully the LSD will help. I'll have to see what I can get fabricated for an intake when the car goes to the shop to get everything done. The car is on its way to the body shop tomorrow getting some new paint/lips and then to the mechanics. I'm debating on ordering a 2.6" pulley cause I'll have alky injection on it but I'll have to wait to get a tune/injectors when spring comes and I can get the car out.
that would be me doing the 10.5:1 build, im just waiting on extra funds to put into the build. im just going to keep the stock oil pump and balance shafts. its too much work and money to do the 2.3 oil pump swap. plus its hard to find some of the parts. and im pressed for time. its going to be: 10.5:1 wiseco's, eagle h beams, secret cams, 62mm t/b, mild port on the head, mp45 on a 2.5" pulley, cometic mls headgasket(stock thickness), all new gaskets and a 75 shot of nitrous(wet kit through blower)
