Timing Chain

I was reading a old post and someboby was talking about a timing chain conversion with a roller chain out of a 82 1.8 liter engine. Does anybody know anything about this and does it make any gains?j

what post are you referring to?

I believe I can see the future... as I repeat the same routine....

It's a more durable chain, with hardly any stretch and rollers instead of the higher friction silent link of the '83 + chains. Gains would be minimal.

You can replace the cam dowel pin on the LN2 cam, drill it out and install a SBC dowel pin and drill the cam gear to accept cam degree bushings and you can degree in the cam.
