I have 95 cavalier 2.2l. got 4-1 header and 2.5 down pipe from junkyard. There is no name on it. it has no springs from header to down pipe joint like stock does. I used a exhaust doughnut from a 6cyl jeep that i matched up close enough{(i think).2.5" on the doughnut and an about a 3/8" metal thing going into the header if that makes sense)} " . There is still a leak.
So i guess mt question is where can i find the right gasket? or do i need the springs so the exhaust can 'swing'?
hmmm dawg mut huh? im more of a purebred type, the rest are just mangy and all messed up lookin.
good day
Most that have used the a gasket on a header for our cars have had issues from my experience. I did better not running one on my car, also with no springs on the bolts.

I did not know that. I took the gasket out and no leak

now my issue is the down pipe is too short and rubs on the oil pan but oh well.
And sorry for the spelling in my title, I was real tired.

Popular mod with the LN2 header on the J-car is to cut-off the ball-socket & replace it with a flange, then install a flex-tube to connect it with the rest of the system.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
