I have the header, now its exhaust time.

I was wondering. If I get a vibrant cat-back what will I have to do about the piping from the header to the cat?I wouldn't wanna have full 2.25 piping all the way to the cat and then back to stock size up to the header.Where do I buy this piece?Or would I have to go to an exhaust shop.I don't wanna spend more than $600,but I need a high flow cat also.Tell me what I should do.I really wanna get the full exhaust and then get it hp tuned. What differences in power would I be getting with a good tune and full exhaust? My current set up is in my profile.thanks,

what header did you buy that doesn't hook up to the stock cat?

in any event, get a new cat, resonator, and catback of your choice.

No I have the header installed(had to get a custom downpipe made)because its the LSJ pace setter header.I was wondering how I would get the piping all the same size?

the downpipe will have to be custom fabbed or bent. take a look at my registry. excluding the header, this all cost me well under 600 dollars installed.

COOL.But I have some questions still. What is a CTI cat-back?And did you just go to a muffler shop to get the downpipe made?So you pretty much bought every thing seperate?I need to hear some exhaust clips,I bet that thing flys with those mods(the 04 eco I meen).I just read the mods that you have done to the 08 solstice........WOW 350hp..Thats crazy.

CTI is custom tubes inc - 2.5" cat back pipe

Yes i selected the muffler, resonator and highflow cat, took it all to the exhaust shop and said make it happen. They really only had to fab up the down pipe. Yes it runs pretty well - I'm hoping for 14's in the spring.

The solstice should say 320hp, lol.

Good luck!

I have custom tubes give them a call to order they are good. They have it in 2.5' as there smallest as far as I know though. Depends on your plans for the car..

Then you can pick your muffler and get a cat off summit or something for a pretty good price, don't buy the obx thing off ebay its just a delete.

If you need ideas for a muffler, go on youtube and get some ideas, I like the dynomax super turbo and the borla xs so far but really everyone has there own opinion.

They'll probably charge you 100 for the install then whatever the DP costs. Good Luck.

Were does everyone buy there exhaust components when you do a custom setup, and buy the items piece by piece? All the sites I go to just sell the catbacks. With no option on buying just the resonator, cat, muffler separate?

Well I just called an exhaust shop and I asked if they could make a custom header back exhaust in 2.5 diameter and he said it wouldnt fit???????????He said around were the pipe goes over the axle it would rub? There are people on here with 3" and have no problems.......WTF should I do?

Find a different shop because that one is incompetent. My shop actually installed another hanger on the passenger side of the exhaust to secure it. 2.5" over the axle with no problems whatsoever. and that was lowered on eibach sportlines. Some shops like midas don't do custom. Its usually the "mom and pop" shops that will do it and do it right.

Oh alright I gotcha. The place I called was "muffler king"...So you think I should go ahead and buy the CTI piping? And get the HFC+muffler+resonator? What about the dynomax bullets?Couldn't they be used as a resonator also? And I was also wondering how long it took CTI to ship the tubes? Thanks for helping me.

yea muffler king sounds more like one of the in and out quickie places that doesn't really do custom work.

Sure you can use the dynomax bullet, but isn't it much pricier than some of the others?
I would first find a shop that is willing and capable of doing the work. Then get an estimate with them supplying the pipe, and another using the CTI pipe. then you'll know which way you come out ahead.

Personally, I would post in the south central regional forum and ask if anyone knows a good shop in your area.
