i have a 1996 sunfire and i am replacing the head gasket and i dont know what order you take the head bolt out and how much torque you are to put on them when you put it back on. Also what all do you need to take off to get the head off any answers thanks..

run to a parts store and pick up a service manual. (haynes) they are about $20 and will help you out through the process. plus it has some pics too

yes, do that, and buy a new set of head bolts while you are there. They are torque to yeild bolts, and are only good for 1 use.

Yes, you could have them tested, to see if you can re-use them, but the price you will pay to test is almost the price of a new set....they are very cheap....you will probably spend more on the manual.

27 for me something in that area



8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
