Is there a big difference in the quality and performance of Turbo tech racing motor mounts compared to the much cheeper Rk Sport ones? Are they worth the extra money? I noticed the TTR upper mount is the whole mount instead of a urethane insert.
I would appreciate any thoughts on both brands
They are 2 completely different animals, and your decision should be based upon what you are planning on doing.
I have heard of feeling LESS vibrations with the TTR version, but without personally doing a side by side compare.....cant tell you for sure.
I have only heard of 1 unsatisfied customer with the TTR mount, and that was over the powdercoated finish.
i have the RK mounts and i like them alot, i have also heard TTR gives off less vibrations but with the TTR ones you have more colors to choose from
TTR all the way.
"still want to smash that like the fist of an angry god"
go with a com[amu that supports the website, in my opinion.
i have both rk in my vert and ttr in my z. i like the ttr one a hundred times better.
the inserts were great , when they were the only thing around
TTR mount FTW

agreed, also Rksport has horrible customer service if you ever have a problem.
TTR all the way. great company that continues to put out high quality products for our cars. i have the upper and lower TTR mounts and theyre one of my fav mods ive done so far. you wont be dissapointed. AND aaron frequents the forum, so how can u go wrong
I've had the original RK insert and it did the job fine.
But having the TTR mount now makes the engine bay look so good along with a better quality mount than what RK has to sell on either of the mounts they have.
TTR ftw.
Aaron of TTR will help you in any way he can to make you happy.
RK on the other hand you never hear from.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Thanks for the input more than likely ill start with the RKs considering how cheap they are and move to the TTRs when i actually start making some power in my engine. My 97 Z is still kind of a heap
i dont think we should be sh!tting on rk this badly...
after all they have made so many parts for us over the years when no others would...
ive had both and have zero complaints. both got the job done.
Needing 2.3 oil pump stuff? PM me...

I dont think anyone is....just that the TTR option is better than the RK, which was for some time, our only option. The RK was a nice piece in its day, and is still better than stock, but the TTR is better.....if you have the budget for it.
yep and IMO the lzm one will even be better than that.

I had the eco upper mount from both RKSport and TTR, I much preferred the RKSport over a shiney version of an almost stock mount. After all the problems with the TTR mount eating bushings and that fact that I took mine off with not many miles on it and it had free play in it, the 2 pieces literally were wobbly, not tight at all.... I never bought a another TTR designed product since (granted I never will now that the J's are gone) but that's my $.02
RKSport full replacement > TTR
Since then, as continuious inmprovement, we have re desgined the mount a couple years ago, that eliminates that from happening.
We found that the side shift of the stock mounts, put a side load on the mounts, we desgined around this to allow this movement without having the bushing take the direct load at the wrong place.
