I had it before, witht he pacesetter header.

It was very raspy..... very very raspy.

I threw in a 20" (i think) resonator, and it toned it down, but not quite enough.

I still have the pacesetter muffler, and header, but now I have custom bent pipe (2.5" mandrel) and a 14" (i think) thrush resonator. it sounds MUCH better, untill I get high up into the rpms, then its a little raspy (but thats from 5500 to 6500, and im not always there anyhow).

This is on an LN2.

I also agree, raspy. I had a neighbor with it on a 2.4, and it sounded like K-rap from like 2500rpm up.

I have the pace setter header, catco cat, and pace setter catback and its not too raspy. Its on a 2.4. A buddy of mine had this setup but with magnaflow cat and was very loud and raspy. My wife has dc header, ebat cat, and pace setter catback and sounds like a juiced wed wacker. I like my set up tho. Thats just me and my opinion.

Right now Im running a Pacesetter 4-1 down into two 20" Resonators. Im wondering if that will get rid of the Rasp with the pacesetter. ($266)

Its either The Pacesetter, or CustomTubes 2.5" Piping and a Magnaflow SS muffler. ($275)

Oh what to do, what to do!

if your running two 20 inch res's, then thats ALMOST the entire length of the straight section right. IMO you should jsut go to a shop and have an axle back made, probably be cheaper, and you could probably get the muffler of ur choice, and have them bend the pipe and install the muffler for cheaper then that whole system that you will only use half of.

Just a thought....

When i had my zx2, i had a res that was the entire lenght of the straigh section, so i took it to a shop and they fabricated and installed 2.25 mandrel bent from teh res's back for like 225, and tha tinclude the dynomax SS muffler i had.
