Ok, well I know its been done, and I want this too. I'm just wondering if this requires any modifications, or do I simply remove mine and bolt up the Sunfire system? (I'm assuming the system is essentially the same as mine, but with a Y-pipe and dual mufflers, rather than my single outlet, correct?) Plus, where could I find a new, or even used OEM system (besides a junk yard, which I plan to check soon)? I want the 95-99 Oval tip style. I've tried googling, and all I'm coming up with is $700+ Magnaflow systems...
anyone know who's car this is? I saved this pic forever ago and I can't remember..... lol

I did this to my 'vert, but I used the SE version with twin round tips. (There's a picture of the back of the car in my profile.) I found a good system at a junkyard and bought it complete. It's a bolt on, and the Cavi platform has the hanger holes on the right side too. The right side muffler is smaller than the left and no heat shield is used on the right. (It isn't needed as it doesn't get very hot.) Make sure you get the hangers and all the hardware. I had to trim the rear facia a little to clear the tips, but it's hardly noticeable.
Be aware of two things: (1) It's purely a decorative system as it flows no better than the stock single muffler system (though the tone is slightly different) and weighs a few pounds more. And, (2) Unless you take the rear axle out, it's easier to get the system in if you cut the pipe just in front of the axle and weld it back together once it's in the car. If you want this new, you'll have to order from a dealer or on-line OEM vendor. And for that much money, you can get a real performance system from a third party vendor. But, if you find a solid system at a yard reasonably (I paid $50 for mine, complete) as I did, I was intrigued enough to put it on. Your method may vary. - Mark

Thanks a ton man! I've seen the newer ones with circle pipes, but thet don't do it for me. lol I did know the right muffler is smaller, I saw one site that sold it new about a month ago, now I have to find it again. And I'm only doing this for cosmetics, I don't care about more performance, I just want it to look good. lol its just a 4 banger, I'm not too serious about performance.
lol thanks again bro, appreciate the tips!

His name was Mike Ramirez, he has since sold the car though. He just got the exhaust from the front of the axle back, and had it welded on, and had the hanger added on the passenger side for the muffler.

Now how easy is it to mount, especially the passenger side, I found an almost new system for 40 bucks an a junkyard and bought it. Just curious on mounting the passenger side muffler. How did you do it. I got an 04 cav.
Just take it to a exhaust shop, they can mount it right up for you.

my local shop sucks, i would rather do it myself. I should be able to figure it out.
Thanks for the help 01Cav
Yeah, I definitely plan on taking mine to a shop. I know a great local guy. I know how to take off my old system, but not how to weld. lol

to be honest...6 bolts pulled the rear shocks and 2 bolts then pulls the back axle...i would just do it myself..
also you can buy it new from parts stores ( i know o'reillys has it) but i don't know if the rear section comes with the mufflers (walker mufflers are expensive)
