Ecotec 2.2L Pacesetter Header
Tuesday, February 03, 2009 8:58 AM
Hello everyone!

Just curious, has anyone installed this type of header on their cavi. yet?

I just made my own custom exhaust...and is being installed as we speak...

Did anyone see a nice change in HP gain in their header alone?

Umm to answer the question - From my pacesetter to my custom header. . . . NO GAIN I spent about $600 in tubing and collector, then another $600 for a racer buddy to weld it up, so in my case, if i would have known that i would still have the pacesetter.

From lets say from a factory header to a pacesetter . . . not sure, but i would guess maybe 2-3 whp

Hope all that helped a little

How much difference is there in the L61 Pacesetter and the LSJ? Larger primaries and collector............?

From stock exhaust manifold to a longer runner type header you will notice a difference..

I dont like it when people state you will gain a specific horse power gain from any one mod.. you more so have to think about it from the stand point of your opening up your exhaust and your header will allow it to flow better thus making more power at a higher RPM's..

so if your getting a larger diameter exhaust put on your car and you keep your stock exhaust manifold then it will restrict your exhaust starting out.. so an aftermarket header is good.

L61 primaries - 1.5"
LSJ primaries - 1.75"

The pacesetter header is very good. i feel alot more high end power and have a deeper growl. If you get the header replace the collecter ball flange with a different one cus it leaks bad.

I noticed a difference but not a whole lot, about as much as you could expect frome a pacesetter.

Well I just Installed it and the car has gained some power.

But my exhaust at full throttle sounds like a bee hive

Does anyone know the best way to eliminate this sound???

You need a resonator to eliminate the raspyness if that is the problem.

Might be an exhaust leak too.

well its only when im at full throttle and the raspyness is the problem...

Do you have any links for a good resonator...perhaps one off of ebay that would fit my specs..?????

i doubt its a leak considering the whole ordeal is brand new and the guys who did the work are great. hmmm

thanks yall

Well the ball flange is prone to leaking supposedly. Didn't know if you had it cut off and whatnot.
