help with muffler install

ok i got a cherry bomb turbo 2 muffler. link here http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,85635/initialAction,partProductDetail/initialpartType,01917/initialR,711363/initialvehicleId,2388202/shopping/selectZip.htm

this is for a little sound and im putting a nice tip on it, dont want performance. the car is a 98 sedan cav 3 speed auto 2200. im not looking for power out of it before anyone starts arguing about putting this muffler on the car.

It has 2.5" inlet diameter and the stock piping is 1 7/8" as far as I know. i have the new muffler hanger, extension pipe, tip, ss band clamps and a few regular clamps just incase I need them.

what size adapter/reducer do you suggest to hook this up to the stock piping. welding is NOT an option at all, period. ive been looking at local part shops and none of the adapters look like they will fit good enough for this. so just need opinions on adapters to use for it.

this isnt a cherry bomb glasspack that you might be thinking of with the open exhaust annyoing sound, infact my friend has one on his 99 3 speed auto 2200 and it has a nice mellow tone to it. my cars never see a shop other than for an alignement btw, I just dont trust people anymore with my cars.

thanks for the opinion though alex.

still wondering who knows wich size reducer to use with it to the stock pipe.

true. he is helping me with the install btw. he also has a 98 and 05. so we need to know preatty much just what adapters to use or if you know good place to get them as we tried pep boys, autozone, napa etc. our friend james's car sounds pretty decent. and other than that he is stock , I have a K&N short ram intake on mine so will sound good.
