any chance of a C.E.L problem with this high flow cat?
Friday, February 20, 2009 8:38 AM
i bought the high flow cat off ttr with 2.25 in/out and went to the exhaust shop today and got my pacesetter header installed -not happy with the installion the idiots didnt even replace the studs with the bolts provided in the kit and i dont think they put the spings in at the downpipe either. gonnan get a new hardware kit take it elsewhere and get the job done right.

anyway back on topic. they wouldn't put on the high flow cat that aaron sent me saying it wasnt the right one and would throw a code and wanted me to buy a $100 more expensive one. i told them no and left with just the header job done. im sure many of u have the same hig flow cat and i am wondering has anyone gotta a cel with the cat on or had any other problems whatsoever?

im going to a different exhasut shop next week. The guy that used to do my exhaust had to quit becasue of finances and he did an amazing job really saddens me.

link to the cat??

so long as it has an o2 bung....your fine.

if it doesnt, you could add one for $5-$25 depending on the shop....not a big deal.

ok here is the link i coudlnt figure out how to edit my original post.
it does have the bung for the o2 sensor. it puts the sensor right at the end of the convertor instead of about 7 inches away on the stock one. i dont see how that makes a difference.

oh and the echasut shop guy ssaid i neede3d a one with a heavy metal core..... bull@!#$

customer service from ttr responded lightening fast and said there shouldnt be a problem with the cat becasue no one else has had one. so ill have to go find anew shop now. its kinda weird, but the new header quieted down my exhaustduring driving. its only loud while revving and hard acceleration now. maybe the cat swap will make it louder again.

even if you do throw a CEL you can always use a manual O2 sim aka (spark plug antifoulers)

question, are the springs supposed to be visable or are they put in between the two flanges?

According to Pacesetter, they are supposed to go in between the flanges.

They also may have used the studs from your manifold because studs are supposed to stay tight better....they dont stretch. studs>bolts
