so i have a 2004 sunfire with the 2.2L ecotec. i want to go about, well, making it faster and upgrading it, but where do i start? what would be the quickest, easiest, most reasonably priced place to start?

probably an intake and then you could go to exhaust and maybe some motor mounts.
most start with an intake

Just buy an ebay intake and slap on a K&N filter. There are no difference in gains between manufacturers, CAI, or WAI on our cars.
My new intake is just a 6" length of 3" plastic tube with a K&N on the other end of it.

ah ok, ill check it out...what should i look for exactly, like what length and such? and can i get a good exhaust off ebay too?
lastly, is there a guide on how to install the intake and exhaust?

There is no performance difference between CAI or short ram. Its just personal preference. The only reason my intake is so short is that is going to be a custom set-up attached to my supercharger.
Intake and exhaust instillation is very straight forward.

awwwwww..... the good ole days, when you had no idea what to do or how to do it.
Rob keep reading the forums, don't let the @!#$s on here get you down.
That intake will be fine. Just be sure to keep it away from the battery terminals. Installation is pretty straight forward.
