I believe I have seen them on the older grand am's and achieva's. I am remembering working on a few cars with that style. could be way wrong tho. you are talking about the intake that looks like a header?
yup. looks cool but harms flow.
there's a reason they did away with it...
Needing 2.3 oil pump stuff? PM me...
alot of companies had intakes like that with equal length tubes. GM, Honda, Toyota... lots of them. they thought it would be a good idea since equal length header primaries seemed to help exhaust flow so well... apparently it didnt work so well in reverse... there was lots of steps and lips or something.
but hey, it must be better than the 2.4L manifold, it came from the 2.3L...

I was looking at your pictures in your profile and im 99% sure i saw this motor on ebay. It says its a 92 but the intake and exhaust manifolds and the cam towers are all from an older quad4. I dont think they made HO motors in those years. so unless someone did some custom work on the greasy thing u might wanna rethink or double check with the seller. The intake only flows til 5600 rpm, and the cams have a high duration but a really low lift(if the motor is stock). It was the equivalent of an LO motor.

The 2.3 HO was available in '89
I was referring to 87 and 88 when those manifolds and cam towers were mostly used. I probably should have been more specific though.
I'm not going to get this motor after all. Can't handle the shipping price. I figured it would flow better cause of header like intake. that and the header. Whitch the header added alot of lowend torque. I have a HO exaust, and the header flows so much better. If i had to guess I would say at least 5ftpnds. But a JBODY is nothing like a TRANS AM. Anyway thanks people. Who knows I might find this intake and dyno it compared to my HO intake. If I do I will post #'s. If my Machinest is right Ill be pushing 250hp and 250 ftpds to the wheels.

Thatd be sweet! Some people have speculated that the manifold will increase power in a mild 2.4. it is not built for top end at all but tuned for midrange power. It is a fact that it stops pulling at 5600 rpm however it i also said it desnt bog down either. the 2.4 stops making power around the same rpm, therefore this coul be a good match up for a torquey engine. However the general conception is that the manifold is worthless.
Thats so true. But if I get everything matched up it should do some good.
