Have you done a compression test?

yeah compression is between 175 and 180 in all four cylinders.

If the compression is good, i would recheck the cam timing and look for any possible vacuum leaks.

could be bad plugs wires coils on the misfire

when you blew a valve did it make contact with the spark plug if so it could be damaged

plugs are new. when it idles it jumps from 600 to 1000 rpms then it'll run smooth for a few seconds then it'll jump around again. when it first happened a few weeks back it would take a few turns of the key to start the car. but when i had the valve work done it started fine. today it took a few turns to start it.
