when these motors are rebuilt do they have bored over .20 or .30 or none at all?
The book says that you take off the head take off the oil pan then unbolt the rods and take out the pistons. then it states if worn to replace them. does any thing have to be machined? I mean they didnt even take the motor out of the car? any help would be grate thanks

It depends on the condition of the bore. If the bore is still in good shape and true you can give it a quick hone and install the new pistons. If the bore is out of round then you hae to bore it out.

if you're not sure about the condition of the cylinders I suggest taking it to a machine shop

Two Hundred Thousandths?

wow

I though Max over bore on stock sleaves was .020.... could be wrong, have not looked on SI now that we started just replacing the whole long blocks at work.

No it's 20 thousandths... I heard .030 is about as big as you go on the Eco. Or .040 or something.

X2... Most do this and get the "stock bore pistons" which we carry at www.TurboTechRacing.com
