I was wondering if a 2.4 ecotec head will fit a 2.2 ecotec block because there is a car in a junkyard near me that has a 2.4 in it but the block is bad but they told me head was good so i was just wondering if i could swap the supercharger ,intake, and head would fit my 05 cavalier ?
if it's supercharged it's the 2.0 head, and yes, it will fit with modification, not really worth it
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
do you have the supercharger already?

Yes it will fit, but if it is the 2.4 LE5 head then your going to have VVT. Our J-body ECUs are crap to begin with and there is no way for them to run VVT. So basically the VVT makes the LE5 unswappable, unless someone finds a way to delete the VVT from the head.
If the engine have the SC on it already then its the 2.0L LSJ. The head will fit, but you are going to have to custom fab a block off plate for one of the cams(the LSJ uses both cams to run accessories when the L61 only uses one cam).
If you are looking for a head to get more power just get another L61(2.2), have a machine shop port and polish it, toss in a better set of valve springs, and then go with either a set of stage 1 or 2 cams. Yes it will cost more, but you will have ALOT less headaches and you'll end up making more power than just swaping on another eco head.
*edit for why VVT is a no-no.*

werd you don't need the head just pull all the other parts. it will bolt up to your factory head

will it just be an easy bolt on or will i have problems with anything like would i need to buy or make a spacer of any sort the the tb or anything. i am realativly new to performance. with fuel injected cars.
home made cold air
There are a few parts that you will need to buy, but if you take everything(sensors, connectors, belt, bolts, pullies) there wont be alot.

one last question i have 117XXX miles will the super charger give me a risk of blowing and i still intend to get a stage two turbo from hahn. Should i rebuild before i go that far?
if you are planing to turbo you car then why spend money on the supercharger?

because it is a little more than just a bolt on deal. and we really don't think the op has the knowledge to do so
