Engine Parts
Tuesday, April 07, 2009 7:27 PM
I am about to start building a 2200 for my 2000 S10. I have a block and crank from a 97 Cavalier 2.2. I was wondering if these were the same or if anybody has tried this. Thanks in advance for all answers.

The block will be the same, but the crank's timing notch is in a different position, so it won't work.

Doesn't the automatic in the Solstice a 6-speed, or a 5-speed? Either way, we're still looking at need for less gear than used in the S-truck LN2/auto combo (4.10). Or was that FDR only available with the towing package? I wonder...

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

If I was going to go through the trouble of an engine swap in a S-10 I sure as hell wouldnt be putting an Eco in it.
