Ok So heres the deal. I'm trying to avoid domestic rice, but so far I'm kinda headed that way. I mean obviously, a '05 Cavalier has limits, but more uppity-up would be nice.
Here what I was thinking on doing.
Short Throw shift
"Fart Cannon" or "Pumpkin shooter" exhaust (cut, then new "clear" cat and straight pipe to the exhaust)
Also Ram Air or Cold Air intake
How much harder would cold air be rather than ram air (which i take it is just a K&N Cone filter replacing the factory panel one)? Any difference or other, better solutions?
ALSO ALSO, how hard, time consuming, and expensive would these be, and could I get them accomplished in my own garage? (I have a lot of tools)
Lightweight alternator pulley
Polished fuel rail
Polished valve cover
Pacesetter ceramic coated header
RSM 62 MM throttle body
Thanks a bunch.

Yhea I'm kinda taking ideas from Darkstar's GTC. (Awesome BTW)
Any thoughts on motor mounts? What would I get out of those?
You don't really get anything out of motor mounts except some more interior noise, they don't make horsepower. They are merely a preventative measure to keep you from losing horsepower and torque when you start to extensively modify the engine. Stock upper mounts have been known to break with some ecos. Extreme motor movement can also break exhausts.
Its just something to prevent other things from breaking, thats all it is
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
you want more performance, but list a bunch of BS mods.
change the intake, and replace the ENTIRE exhaust system (header, cat, resonator, muffler, and all piping).
go 2.5" (the same diameter as the collector of every header available for the ecotec).
the alternator pulley is about 2" in diameter... I never understood why people waste their time lightening it...
if you want a real light weight mod, get a light weight flywheel and clutch.
if you go any further than this, you should look into HPTuners or some other form of tuning the car.
Is it that obvious that I don't know a whole lot?

Could I do the cat, muffler, resonator, piping and then headers later right?
"Ram-Air" is basically just a cold-air system that involves port(s) & ducting to capture fresh air from the headwind the the front of the car sees as it moves down the road, and directs it into the filter-media casing (air-filter housing). It helps supply the engine with more are than it may need to breathe as it's rollin'-along (and cooler, "power-producing" air at that!), so that it need not effort so hard to breathe & push the car along.
Don't expect "scram-jet" performance results from this, as it's not actually forcing air into the engine... like a turbo or supercharger would. The power made by those is the result of filling the cylinders with more air (And fuel!) than they would draw in naturally. Remember: An internal-combustion engine relies upon the ingestion of fuel & air, with is then compressed tightly so that when it's ignited it creates a powerful combustion. Increasing the amount of A/F-mixture (Air/Fuel) in the combustion area increases the dynamic (effective) compression, resulting in more power created when it's ignited. A fresh-air (Ram-Air) system just helps it breathe a li'l easier while movin'-along, which helps mileage surprisingly. And that's something we're all concerned about nowadays!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
save up and replace the entire exhaust system in one shot, save the old stuff.
if you ever feel like returning to stock you have your stock parts in a safe place. Plus, doing the system as a whole is whats going to give you the biggest gain. Without upgrading ALL the pipe you're still going to have a bottle neck somewhere.
if you want to do it in phases, do the cat-back system first, then upgrade the header (note: singular, not plural... one head means one headER), the intermediate pipe, the cat, and my personal suggestion is to make sure you throw a resonator in there somewhere or else its going to be very tinny, and very loud (ricey)
get a chambered muffler, not a fart-can style and that coupled with a large resonator should help keep the tone smooth and mellow.

I wasn't really.
I read the 'Think Like a Tuner" sticky too, that clarified a lot of stuff.

Oh yhea.....

That's what I want to avoid (rice-wise), thanks for the suggestion.
or if you want your car alot better convince PJ to build it for you and you pay him lol, sorry PJ just had to, afterall we all know your car here, thats reason I won't go turbo yet, I have to catch ya lol

So PJ.....doing anything for the next.......month or so?
yea trying to get my car back together lol doesn't look like thats going to happen tho.
