Will a 2.0l eco or 2.4l eco header fit a 2.2l?

I know this is wishful thinking but I was wondering if anyone has tried this?? I am looking to do a full exhaust but don't want to spend an arm and leg. Thanks for all the info.

Apparently an aftermarket LSJ ecotec header fits, not sure what make... the primaries are larger then the L61 headers making it a popular choice, but you'll have to get the downpipe custom made

Err...unless you were talking about stock manifolds, but why the hell would you want to use that? I don't see how you'd save money though for aftermarket headers

The stock LSJ(2.0S/C) mani flows better than the stock L61(2.2), so its a cheap upgrade. But yes, the 2.0(S/C & T/C) and 2.4 eco exhaust manifolds/headers fit the 2.2 eco.

The difference is not a lot, definitley not worth doing IMO...you can pick up a Tsudo 4-2-1 header for $150 on ebay, althought they are a pain to install.

Congrats on the false info! The LSJ stock header is a pretty decent upgrade over stock and can be had for around $30 anymore. Takes about 30 minutes to install and bolts right up to your stock downpipe.

The simple answer is yes.

The extended answer is if you are talking about aftermarket parts for the 2.0/2.4, you may have some dp fabbing to do. If you're talking about the factory 2.0/2.4 manifolds, they bolt right up. Keep in mind however that the factory connection between the mani and the dp is most likely rusted to hell and will take some convincing to disconnect. I speak from experience

First off, thanks for the info guys!! But now I'm a little confused! I was searching for the answer last night and was looking on the colboltss site. They were saying that it would work on the newer L61's (ones in the 05+ colbolts or A-bodys) and not the older ones found in the J-bodys! I probably should of said that I have a 2003 Cavalier in my original post The saving money comes into play because I was thinking about using a couple different parts. I was looking at getting an aftermarket header and trying to find a stock colbolt SS for the cat-back. If the whole system bolts right up and is a decent upgrade I might think about doing that!! Does anyone here have this? How is the improvement? Any sound difference? I'm sure I'll have to move some of the hangers and stuff like that but as long as all the bends fit and it slides in, this could be a cheap little upgrade!? This car is my daily driver so I don't want to go to crazy or spend to much. With that being said, I still want to improve the car and make it a little more fun to drive

I have to agree since i put on my cobalt ss manifold and ported it myself, cheap 30$ upgrade and felt the same as my crappy tsudo header which leaked horribly.

I just realized I keep saying SS (2.4L eco). What I really meant was SS/SC (2.0L eco). I can only imagine the SS/SC parts are a little better then SS ones!? Does anyone know the stock exhaust size on the SS/SC? I think I read our stock 2.2L are 1 7/8"?

LSJ pacesetter header is 1.75" and the L61 pacesetter header is 1.5". I dunno about stock.

A "serious upgrade", really? Any facts to back this up? I'm sure it's a small improvement with larger and seperate primaries, but I wouldn't bother with such a small gain myself....30 minutes? Hmm, ever try and undo those bolts from the stock manifold to the flex pipe without air tools?

I love how you talk about it with no experience and I watched it being done in UNDER 30 minutes not even 2 weeks ago with just a ratchet. I'm just giving my opinion but hey what do I know...

Fair enough, you guys lucked out since many can't get those bolts undone without air, they strip the bolt heads. I still say it's not going to be a big difference, but you are right, it is a cheap upgrade for someone tight on cash.
