whats up everyone, i have a triple gauge pod a-pillar w/ air/fuel ratio, volts, and now oil pressure. i installed the actuall gauge and pod but i dont know what to do from there gauge came with some fittings but no wire?? and very basic directions need help please its a 97,2.2ln2 motor and also by the way car did not come stock w/oil gauge on dash
The gauge should have a remote sender, you will need to get some fitting to adapt that sending into a oil galley in the head or the block then run a single wire from the sender to the gauge. If you got the new style gauge you should have a small sender and a 3-wire wiring harness. Either way, same idea.

did you buy this gauge new? if so.... you should have the guage, and either a large sender and the fittings, or a small sender and fittings with the harness. with the large sending unit you will need to run YOUR OWN WIRE.
LOL......^Sounds like we both know what we are talking about so if you need more help we need pictures cause somethings not jiv'n.

yes i got it new it came with a heat treated large sender unit and a little bag w/some fittings thats it and some basic instructions no wires and there is definitley no wire harness
Then it sounds like you got the older style remote sender, you need to either get down to -3AN hose from an oil galley in the head or in the block and mount that sender somewhere and hook it up to the hose or find a place large enough to fit the sender directly into the galley. The older style doesn't have any wires included at all, all you gotta do is make some wires to bring "switched" +12V, ground, and the sender signal. Then split the switched +12V and Ground for the light in the gauge if you want it lighted. Or if you only want it lighted at night you need to run the +12V lead from the headlight relay/stereo illumination source.

wow! I thought would have been easier than that thats why I bought the electrical one but thanks for the help i'll have to have someone help me my dude is pretty mechanical he just put together an 89 mustang w/ abigblock w/650hp!
Well, gauges aren't too bad once you try one and get it they will be pretty easy. Also, you have to be electric gauges if they are going to be run into the cabin anyway.
