Has anyone tried this? How much work is involved?
Thanks,
Kyle
why would you want to swap the entire engine when you could just put a turbo on your existing 2.2 ? have you even considered it yet ?
may just be me but id think an entire turboed engine would cost more than just a turbo kit.....maybe im wrong

These people are too common, just look at the SR20 swaps into 240's...

No one has tried it AND documented it. The LNF is controlled by one of the most Nazi, tripped out, @!#$ up, pissed off ECU's ever known - direct injection, VVT, MAF sensor, factory WBO2, two MAPs, two IATs, ETC, and so on...
It's not child's play to work on it when its in a native car, much less when you're trying to get it to work in a jbody.
If you really go through with it - suggest you swap EVERYTHING from the donor car, no matter what effort it takes to do it, because it will take far more to "cut and splice" the LNF into the jbody
how many of these f_cking posts are there going to be in one day?
If it were easy... and cheap... guys with LN2'd S-trucks would do it in a heartbeat, instead of just trying to do what they can with the LN2 & it's limited supply of performance after-market, or shovin' a SBC in-place. Amongst which includes me.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Wow! Yes I did surch for this before I posted!! I don't want to swap the LNF! The topic says LNF turbo swap to 2.2L... Maybe I didn't make it clear enuff. All I was asking is if anyone has took the turbo system off the LNF and tried to put it on the L61!! Not a motor swap just the turbo system!

Thanks for the info oldskool!
Yes you didn't make yourself clear
Don't buy from MANTAPART!!
There is no easy ways to get HP, no magic box or gizmo... And if you get more hp, there's no way to make your car still behave and sound like a stock one. More hp usually makes your car louder, more vibrations and harder to drive...but still people hope or think maby there's some magic way to have it all, comfort, stock sound and drive.

One of the guys here in Colorado is looking to upgrade his whole system. I'm thinking I could buy the parts he no longer needs or wants for a better price then a new turbo kit.
I'm not sure if I even want to go this route. I thought I would see if it has been done just in case I can get a good price on it.
I also somewhat misunderstood your post.
The fact is - the LNF turbo manifold (and turbo) will bolt up to the L61 head. If you want to make power similar to the "saab kit" (~200-250whp tops), this is an option. Unfortunately the downpipe/cat and charge piping/intercooler probably will not directly bolt up from any available donor car. The cobalt ss and hhr ss are your options...
