i swapped my ld9 tb for a 2.3 tb and now it has a steady idle at 1300 rpm. i checked for vaccum leaks about 3 times and nothing...
anyone have any suggestions?
You put a 2.3L TB on your stock 2.4l manifold?

yes, but with some fabrication ofcourse... any suggestions?
iac ? throttle cable too tight ? vacuum leak ?
throttle cable is okay, no vacuum leaks... but which one is the iac?
The larger of the 2 sensors.
the one with the small piece of vacuum line attached to it? if i unplug that one it idles fine, but cuts out a little bit when i first get on the throttle... could that sensor be bad?
that's the MAP sensor. The IAC is the air bypass valve in the TB bolted with bolts into the side of the TB. What 'fabrication' did you do to run the 2.3l tb on the 2.4 intake manifold, if you can explain.

simple fabrication, i had to swap some things from the 2.4 tb so i could use my cruise crontrol still and stuff, that's all!
Right, I just wanted to know what you have done, since just the cruise bracket is all that should be required. It's just the term 'fabrication' is what threw me off there cause there should be no fabrication involved.

it was the IAT sensor... it was opening too far and making the motor idle too high.. what should i do to fix it? i tried 3 different sensors and all of them keep pushing in too far once the car is started and ran... any ideas?
did you switch over your 2.4l tb's IAC into the 2.3l TB? If not then you have to let your PCM relearn the new IAC and then the high idle will/should go away.

well i have the 2.4 IAC sensor in, and it is backed off really far... should i pull it out and try to reset it? and it has been about 4 days and it is still idling high! when would it relearn it?
It should relearn it right away. You can check a couple things. First the set screw on the back of the TB. This adjust how far the plate is open when you release the throttle all the way. If that is out a 1/8 of a turn to much it will cause it to idle high. If that is ok, then replace the IACV.

i'll have to check that! thanks! i'll let everyone know how i make out!
