ONE OF THE DRAG GUY near me made a good point so i think about he E85 stuff
the local track sells cam12 for 8$ a gallion for 120 octaine he said why not just run a couple of gallion's of E85 which is 110octaine with just regular 93!1
can you mix the two together and make that work???? i know for the carb bowl swap you need to replace all the gaskets with alchoal resistant stuff but
would it be safe for injection or will it F@#k something up im not willing to try it out un till i get some feed back sp let me know
if only there stoich ratio was the same.........

a simple answer is that it is as simple as mixing them. however, being that much more ethanol is needed, stock injectors and fuel pump don't keep up. that and a tune would be needed for anything above E30. It's just not worth it on a stock engine, though.

All stock...........lol.

Yeah, I've seen the factory S-trucks setup of E85... and always figured that, even if I were to add a turbo, I'd put some 10:1 pistons in it to take advantage of the increased octane content. Maybe even 12.5:1 slugs in a N/A app to take advantage of the vaporization of latent-heat characteristics it has.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Yup, ethanol requires like 3X the heat added to turn into a vapor. Latent heat of vaporization --> Gas: 900 btu/gal :: Ethanol: 2,400 btu/gal.
This means it can cool the in coming air charge much more than gas alone.
EDIT: Spelling.
EDIT: Elaborate
This is the whole idea behind WI, takes heat out of the air charge.

And cooler air in means a lesser likelihood of detonation... Hence the mention of notion of using 12.5:1 slugs.

good info thanks i stick with running cam12 at 8$ a gallion only need 2 gal with less then half a tank
you are running 120 octane in a car that doesnt need it?
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Given what I've read in other threads and from his profile, you sir are 100% correct.
