Really the best route would probably be custom exhaust. If you're going to replace the cat, you might as well go high flow, then if you want to keep it quiet but still have the performance..I'd go with a resonator: thrush, magnaflow.,.whatever and get a dynomax/thrush super turbo muffler and take it to an exhaust shop and have then weld it up with 2 1/4" piping.

i will only say this one go to RK sport pay the 399 for the 2.1/4 cat back magnaflo and be done with it

[size=default] any thing over 2 1/4 is over kill on exhaust size un less you have serious mods like S/C or Turbo and lots of boost

ya, but i cant replace the cat here with a resonator, exhaust shops wont do it, its against the law, i would do it but i don't have a welder (i know how to wield)

i have been watching youtube for descent sounding mufflers and i kinda wanna get a twinloop typle, but i have never seen one in person here is a youtube link of one on a 92 civic si http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFZYUt_8VHc&feature=related since thats a smaller engine will mine sound deeper if i get one?

in my opinon, keep your stock cat, put on an 18" or 22" Magnaflow resonator right after the stock cat with 2 1/4" inlets and outlets and have an exhaust shop weld a flange so it will fit onto your stock cat and then have them bend 2 1/4" piping to a Magnaflow or Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. That is probably the best sound quality for the price. The twinloop muffler will sound alright, aslong as you have a resonator in the system that is 18" or longer....a resonator is your best friend when it comes to good deep (no rasp) exhaust sound
