Okay guys you have been great help to this day I have run into a problem though and cannot find the answer. Problem I blew the engine in my 95 with the 2.2 I have a 96 2.2 I am in the process of putting in I noticed some of my wires/sensors are either in different locations or not there at all. I am needing this car too be running by thursday night and only have like 6 hours of time free to finish it PLEASE HELP

Your problem is that the car is ODB 1 and the engine you are putting in is ODB 2. You have more work ahead of you than expected.

The blocks are the same right? so what do i need too do inorder too get this motor too work?

Just change the sensor.

The engine is just an engine. It's not OBDI or OBDII. The ecm is. Use the 95 sensors and go with that.

okay after going out and looking the 96 has a different style camshaft sensor then the 95 as well as two sensors down in the crankshaft area, My computer wont look for things that are not suppose too be there so what can i do? PLEASE HELP, Do i need too just clip the harness from donor car and splice into my harness to make it work?

The '95 supposedly doesn't have a cam-sensor... So you can bypass that. What it does have is a crank-sensor (The lowest) a oil-pressure sensor & a knock-sensor. The cam-sensor will be on about the same plane as the oil-pressure sensor, and has three wires to it. If the connectors you have... after hooking-up the crank-sensor... don't match it, ignore it because your management don't make use of it & you don't need it to make the '96 engine-assembly run with your '95s management. That only leaves the oil-pressure & knock-sensor, which I'm sure you can pretty-much figure out what connectors go to which on your own.


Go beyond the "bolt-on".
