was wondering if a 2.5l out of an sti would fit in a 99 sunfire
anything is possible with custom work...just put an Ecotec in their..less of a pain..
kidding a million people on here have done that old news do something like a 527 big block
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
anything fits with enough time & money....by you asking this question...I will ASSume......
You do not have the skills or the money required to do the swap. If it was anywhere close to easy you would seen them in j-bodies.
A 2.2 ecotec or even a 3800 series gm motor would be easier.

X2 Damn newbs search a forum once or twice would ya...
Can we prescreen threads before people like this post...whole @!#$ balls this is rediculous.
It would probably be easier to do a V6 swap and the driveline from one of the AWD pontiac montana's.
If your step dad really had the know-how, he would have slapped you just for asking that. Why would buying a ford kit make it easier to put a Subaru engine in a Chevy anyway? Or a Chevy in a Chevy, whichever the kit was for? Neither of these engines come remotely close to matching up anywhere. I second the Ecotec swap... But as someone else already said, yes, it will physically fit under the hood. If you actually do this, I think everyone would love a how-to with pictures and the total cost ($ + time)

sorry it was fiero kit to put a 350 in not fiesta. im really just trying to figure out what all i can put in my car besides an ecotec. if i put the 350 in it would probably be in the rear end or something. id really rather find something different from a 350 though because of gas mileage. and yea when i mentioned the 2.5l to him he basically said dont even try.
V6 and montana awd conversion........There is a way.......
So the cav is going to die anyway, just buy a damn WRX.

i would save up and buy a wrx... but i have an extreme dislike of 4 door cars... espescially ones that look like imprezas...
i did this swap. but my friends, brothers, uncle's sister, twice removed (who is a mechanic) said it would be easier to cut out the trunk and put engine there instead. glad i did
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

You could put a stock Ecotec in the car with a turbo cheaper and wax a WRX with it.

3800s wont fit in a j body, 2.5 will drop in over the weekend and give the j body a JDM title
JBO since July 30, 2001
well what engine has a little more umph than the 2200 besides an ecotec?? "you'll sorry john higgins, you'll be sorry" haha pretty good movie
or was it henry higgins... ?
You have four main options
1. Ecotec
2.LD9 (2.4L twing cam)
3. 3x00 series motors (v6 either the 3100,3400,3800,or 3800 series 2 )
4. GTFO
Im going to swap in a Duramax, complete with the Alison 1000.
why NOT the ecotec?
just wondering...
if you say you want to be different i'll shoot you.
Swap in the Sti engine, it's easy as pie, practically a bolt-on!
Don't buy from MANTAPART!!
There is no easy ways to get HP, no magic box or gizmo... And if you get more hp, there's no way to make your car still behave and sound like a stock one. More hp usually makes your car louder, more vibrations and harder to drive...but still people hope or think maby there's some magic way to have it all, comfort, stock sound and drive.
