Ecotec Adjustable FPR
Monday, June 01, 2009 5:23 PM
I'm in need of a new AFPR and don't want to go the in fuel rail type (like stock) I don't know if I need a rising rate AFPR or not. I have a 2.2 Eco with GMPP SC kit, 3.0 pulley currently but I'm working on installing a HE and smaller pulley.

Thanks

Take you pic of FPR's..

http://www.jegs.com/c/Fuel-Induction_Fuel-Pressure-Regulators/10323/10002/-1

and im guessing sense your car is an 02 sunfire you dont have the 03-05 fuel rail? Thats probabley something youll need.. that and to thread the fittings to your FPR..

so lots of these..

Does that help?

I have an 03 to 05 fuel rail, but I'm looking for a AFPR that does not attach at the fuel rail, I'm looking to get rid of the stock fuel lines (there UGLY) so I want to mount the AFPR and run SS braided lines, I have the fitting to attach to the factory lines from the tank, just don't know if I need a rising rate FPR or not?

I'd like to go into the fuel rail. I saw HAHN RACECRAFT's billet piece to fit an AFPR on the fuel rail. So any of the ones above I can use? Would like one with a built in gauge.

Just get a 1:1 ratio regulator.

I have an 02 fuel rail, what do I need to stick a AFPR on it? Preferably inline fuel connection. Buy the hahn racecraft billet adaptor? And then an LT1 FPR ( fits only 03-05 L61)?

Aeromotive makes a bolt on AFPR for us, however I do not remember the pn, all you need to do is make sure you buy the one that sits like your factory one....

Edit: you have an 02 rail my bad, I guess the hahn setup is the best/easiest route.

Yes they do, I used to run one, however they are known to fail.

Holley makes an AFPR that bolts to Ecotec fuel rail. Custom Built Motors makes both fittings to attach to the rail for fuel lines. No need to cut, drill, or weld, fitting are -6AN, very clean and easy. If anyone needs pics of install or part #'s let me know.

AHHHHHH ok the hahn piece is for 02 rails ONLY and it gives you 1/8npt threads, its what I'm running. I have 1/8npt to -6an fittings and AN lines that go to my AEM AFPR which I bought from Kronos.

Now for an 03-05 just buy the LT1 regulator, any brand should theoretically work but I've only know of the Aeromotive working for sure.

"-6an fittings and AN lines that go to my AEM AFPR." Buy the hahn fuel rail adaptor, AEM AFPR and how many -6an fittings etc. Great pic by the way, makes me want one right now! The AFPR looks good! Can you give me a grocery list of parts please? lol. Thanks.

You need an AEM fpr like this one Your text to link here... or any other afpr in that style, theres a bunch of aeromotive choices.
then you need 2 1/8npt to -6 an adapter
2 -6 an to -6 an
a 9/16-18 (fine thread) bolt thats very short or a -6an cap
a 1/8npt plug or a 1/8 npt fuel pressure gauge
2 whatever length of -6an line you want
The 02 ecotec afpr adapter from Hahn, you have to email them to get it, they dont sell it straight from the site.

Mine looks like this, on the passenger side strut tower.

To to it that way you need 42" lines with a 180* fitting on one end and a 90* fitting on the other, 180 goes on the fuel rail side.
