Just thought I would ask around and see what everyones choices were for their first upgrades on their j's. Whatever upgrades you made at first while keeping your j a N/A.

4 Cams...32 Valves...5 Liters...This Could Get Fun!
is there a preference to the eco over the LD9 these days?
"It's called reading! Top to bottom, left to right... a group of words together is called a sentence. Take Tylenol for any headaches... Midol for any cramps."
Yes the ld9 is still a potent engine but the eco has the after market and the better oiling system,
No the LD9 is just as good as the eco, only difference is more aftermarket toys lol, but thanks to PJ more and more going to the darkside

K&N air filter, magnaflowcat back exhaust, Short ram intake.
WAI, upper/lower mounts, beryillium ignition springs, oooooOOOooooohhh...nothing for 5 years, then recently header, 2.5" exhaust, tri flow camshafts, 2.4L intake man, 32lb injectors and soon getting Hp tuned and BDK if Clayton ever has time to install it for me.
Don't buy from MANTAPART!!
There is no easy ways to get HP, no magic box or gizmo... And if you get more hp, there's no way to make your car still behave and sound like a stock one. More hp usually makes your car louder, more vibrations and harder to drive...but still people hope or think maby there's some magic way to have it all, comfort, stock sound and drive.
Header, cat-back ,intake, msd coils/wires, 1.6 roller rockers, ported head, chromoly pushrods, 56mm tb, a/c removed, blown up back to stock w/ exhaust.
Soon: turbo, full build.

My first mod was a cool air intake....
Then a full exhaust
Then a bunch of other crap like better tires / wheels, guages, a shift light, front and rear strut bars.....some cosmetic crap..... stuff like that...
Then secret cams.....
Now I finally have the transmission fixed lol
Next up will be an MSD swap, motor mounts, and better suspension when finances allow.
Then eventually a tune and forced induction of some kind hopefully
I haven't started on mine, but I'm just going to do the pulleys for performance (Bring some life into the 3.1 without changing the way the car sounds). I'm going for a few other simple mods, but a 17 year old car needs more TLC than modification.
