Does anyone know at what RPM the stock ignition should start cutting out? My car cuts out at 6600 RPM. I believe it is fire over fuel but Im just looking for somewhere to start. Its a 1994 Cavalier with the SBC valve springs. It also has the lifter upgrade. I race this car circle track which is why I run so high RPM.
I bought the accel coils, which according to this forum is supposed to have x number of winds at 45000 volts which is a big improvement from the 5 winds of 30000 volts. Anyone have some input?
No input on the coils, but the stock ecm will cut fuel, not spark. You might be able to use a manual trans ecm or one from a Beretta or Grand Am to run higher, but imo you're better off switching to a computer which is "tunable."
