trying to get a AFR gauge but the one im looking at from glowshift said in bold print will not work with narrow band o2 sensors
does anyone know what the 02 sensor in a 2000 cavalier 2200?
stock sensors in our cars are narrowband. most wideband o2 sensors come with some form of displaying the afr, so usually no need for a separate gauge.

you don't get AFR readings from a narrowband, period.
you need a wideband kit (most come with gauges)
The one on that page is for a narrow band, maybe i can give u a better understanding of the difference between the two. A Narrow band Simply distinquishes between lean and rich and sometimes are very inaccurate, where as a wideband would give u an exact air to fuel ratio. This is a very valuable tool for tuning. If u just want the gauge for looks then its ok, but it will not help u to be able to tune, and they are not very accurate in telling ur air to fuel ratio. Because the are usually made cheap and usually tap into some other sensor. (no narrow band gauge will come with an O2 sensor) A wideband guage is usually digital also that way it will give u the exact ratio u want to run....To put in in simpler terms. a wideband collects a lot more info and turns it into something more precise and understandable. where as a narrow band will just put u in the ball park. Like a set of directions, one can put u right in the living room on the couch, and another set will get u to the closest intersection and then u have to find ur way from there. A wideband is also a lot more expensive, i just bought mine from www.Moates.net i think it was like $225 and it comes with a wideband O2 sensor and a red led gauge
if it can't win a race it better win a show
