Hello all
I have most of my oil swap parts already
Hoping i can pick up a crank gear from Brad still as i dont wanna re use the one i have
Question is
For the oil pan i can get it welded by a Tig welder from work
If i can't do it properly im going to get it from Todd but if i can save some money id like to
Has anyone done this their self or have any good info on doing it?
Im gona contact OEM and see if he would be interested in doing it and for how much. Ive seen plenty of people have their pan custom done but just adding about an inch to the pan, if I cant then Ill be going the Miller route as well.
Just cut out the woven area on the bottom of the pan also cut the drain plug out with the woven area. after that just get a strip of aluminum and bend to fit the cut out. you want to lower it anywhere for 1/2" to 1" mine is lowered 1".
Is it really that simple Paul?
A piece of 1 inch aluminum is nothing for me to get
Welder at work is certified for Tig
Did you do any surface prep or pre heat?
Any other good info need to pass to him?
Thanks
i was just going to give todd miller my business... as far as i know he does still do these.
but to each his own i guess.
and yup, i do still have crank gears.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
no...you have a oil pump drive gear..then you have a gear on the other side for the timing chain..it should be much smaller
