I searched but can seem to find what I'm looking for.. I was talking with some ppl and we were talking about a stroker that'll make my LD9 a 2.6, using a combination of LD9 and 2.3HO parts... I just dunno which parts I need. is it an HO head on the LD9 block or visa versa? is it using HO bottom end internals in an LD9 block? I read a couple other similar threads and gathered a lil info, but not completely what I was looking for... just that using LD9 internals in a 2.3 block is a no-no
I got one, maybe 2 spare LD9 blocks right now.. and the motor in my car now is about to pop, so I'm trying to find something soon

To make the 2.6 stroker you would need the 2.4 crank and rods in a 2.3 block with 2.3 head. you will also need custom pistons and redrill for the CPS.
screw cps you dont NEED it lol and a thought you could use a 2.4 head
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
why in the hell would you want to use a 2.4 head?
PFFT secret cams?! pm me if you want a real upgrade.
i dont have a cps on my LD9

Quoted For Truth
but dont forget the overbore
you mean CPS
CPS - Crank Position Sensor
Evan you might take this the wrong way, but you do not need to do this. Put your extra 2.4 you have in your car and go. Paint your kit. This is more envolved than you are ready to handle.

In most cases, yes, However here, they mean Cam ANGLE sensor..... in the GM books its called a CAS...
87-95 Quad-4's don't have it, (don't get all technical now, i know the auto obd1.59 quads have it.)
Have to be honest, If I were doing this, and because i have way to many damn LD9's laying around, I would punch it over .140 and fit the LG0 pistons in.

I forgot to mention the cam sensor earlier. however the crank position sensor is what we were talking about. it needs to be relocated due to different timing marks on the 2.4 crank vs the 2.3.
ok, more good info... but I was referring to the ECU when I said PCM. which computer and wiring harness would I need?
John, I AM gonna put the good motor in as soon as we get all of Chris' stuff moved over to the new house and can get a weekend to relax and not have to do anything. I was gonna use the other motor I have to start with since the block is like new and slowly build it as I get money

You can stick with your 2001 ecu/pcm. Most of the sensors are the same. The 2.3 cam towers have no provision for the cams sensor though. If you have HPtuners you can just turn off the code and your car will run in batch fire mode(same as the old 2.3s) The knock sensor might be different too. If you make a stroker you will still need to relocate the CPS no matter what ecu/pcm you use. It has to do with crank reluctor wheel timing and the position of the sensor on the block.

f uck me running thats a long ways to go... but sonic tests have shown .080 to be safe so i say why not.
go for it chris.

or sleeve it with bigger sleeves
if any exist. sure.

People replace cylinders in blocks all the time....why not replace the 2.4 cylinders with 2.3 cylinders. Thats what I was considering doing.

Couldnt you adjust the timing with hpt to deal with the offset? Are the marks off 15* or 10*? Doesnt the 2.3 icm have a 10* advance built in. So just take 10* off the tables in hpt and it should work...
Maybe i am way off base lol

i always thought this exact thing too but i didnt know if it was a lot further off where you couldnt adjust for it
I was under the impression that it is a bit too far off the adjust for. even once its relocated you need to adjust unless you measure and drill very precisley.
